MY THEORY ON HITTING
Hitting a baseball is by far the hardest thing to do in sports
today. Even the very best players fail 65% of the time and are
considered great hitters. I believe in simplifying the
experience, by mastering the basic fundamentals and letting your
instincts take over.
THE MENTAL GAME
With the basics down, its time to start believing in yourself
and trusting your abilities. When you step
up to that plate, you are stepping in for battle. You don’t have
the time to think about mechanics, your only focus should be on
getting a good pitch to hit.
THE PHYSICAL GAME
The four major factors that coaches and scouts want in a player
is size, strength, speed and flexibility. After excluding the
size factor, we as players have the ability to control the other
three. Today’s players are bigger, stronger and faster. Not
keeping your body in elite physical shape opens yourself up to
injuries down the road. I would recommend a baseball specific
workout
focusing on the three factors previously mentioned.
